For example, if a particular color suits your skin tone best, you can get a blouse and wear it with jeans or black pants, which don’t have to be from the same collection.
Accessories are another way to keep with the latest girls fashion without even wearing any clothes from the latest trends. It is important you know the good and bad points about your own body in order to work with it and enhance your best features. None of us are perfect, not even the gorgeous models you see on the runway, as they all have flaws that are carefully covered with make up and/or the clothes they are wearing on the runway.
Therefore, make the fashion work for you with what fits and suits you best even if it is some accessories such as a belt, scarf, hair clips or shoes. A fashion show is not just hours of sitting and watching pretty women walk by in extreme outfits. It is a lot more fun than that. You can even get a lot out of a show.

Also, a fashion show is fun to attend when you think the latest fashion is hideous. How much fun will it be to laugh with your friends and family about the model who came out wearing a lion mask and tail when you get home?

Not all fashion shows offer them, but many offer goodie bags to their attendees. Who does not love free stuff? Even if you do not like everything in your goodie bag, you can re-gift it later to someone you know who will. The better and bigger the name of the fashion show, the bigger and better the goodie bag.
Meet People
A fashion show is great social gatherings. First off, you may be able to make some new friends. You may find that your new best friend was sitting next to you at a fashion show drooling over the same male model you were. Better than that, you may meet important people. I am not just talking about the beautiful models, famous designers, or guess appearance celebrities. I am talking about important people who could possibly shape your career. Say you have been trying to break into journalism. There just might be a newspaper editor reporting the show. Making a connection with them could give you a leg up into a job.
Attending a fashion show may not be your idea of fun or your cup of tea. However, all should at least go to one. You may find a new trend you would like to try, meet someone life changing, or even realize your new found love of fashion. If you end up not liking the show, you can always go home and vow to never attend one again. However, you will have a funny story to tell later in life and now you will not be able to say that you have never seen one before.

Just like if you were a photographer wanting to get seen, a portfolio is a great way to organize and showcase your work. All you need is a nice binder and page protectors to put your drawings in. The more illustrations you have, the better. You may also want to make a few copies of your portfolio. With your portfolio, you can show anyone your ideas.
Some people who may want to see your fashion illustration and possibly use them would be a local designer, a famous designer, or even a design teacher who has a lot of connections. Do not be afraid to show your portfolio, even if you think you are annoying people. If you believe your fashion illustration is that good, then it deserves to be seen. If the people who are willing to see it say it is bad or tell you what to change, it may be a good idea to listen to them.
Bring Your Illustrations to Life
Most people have a hard time visualizing ideas and pictures. They are kinesthetic people and need something they can hold and feel and even try on. Do not worry if you do not have any sewing skills. With some money or just great connections, you can have your fashion illustration brought to life. Most design students will work for free if they can receive credit for it. All you have to do is purchase the material.
Another person who may be able to put together your creation is a tailor or seamstress. A lot of dry cleaning places have sewers. It may be possible to arrange something on the side. With your new piece, you can show store owners, boutique owners, or maybe even a celebrity.
Enter a Contest
This may seem like a long shot to get your fashion illustration seen, but entering a contest may be a good route to try. You never know; if you win, then not only will you get the prize, but you may also get some connections where you can send more illustrations to.
