It’s difficult to decide if people don’t know what to wear to work or if they’ve lost sight of the relevance of appearance to professional success. Altogether business and social, situations, our outward appearance sends a message. Think of how you feel when you’re dressed in your usual business attire as different than casual dress. Your choice of business clothesspeaks to your professional behavior and credibility.

In men’s clothing, fashion doesn’t change significantly from season to season but business attire is about being professional and not about being fashionable. The rule is still dressing for success. A solid white or blue evening shirt with long sleeves offers the urbanest look. Shoes should without question be conservative, clean and well polished. Don’t think for a minute that people don’t notice shoes. Belts need to match or closely coordinate with your shoes. The capstone for the business man is his choice of accessories: briefcase, portfolio and pen.

While the business woman may now wear trousers to work, she does it out of a desire to appear professional and at the same time enjoy the flexibility and comfort that pants offer over skirts. As is overall rules apply to women’s work attire as apply to men’s. Business clothing isn’t a reflection of the latest fashion trend. Start with a skirted suit or trouser suit for the most cautious look. A skirted suit is the most professional. Avoid extremes, pants should break at the top of the shoe or foot. In the business world, women need to wear hose. Never wear dark hose with light-colored clothing or shoes. Faces, not feet, should be the focus in business so chose conservative shoes. Accessories shouldn’t diminish your credibility, but should reflect your personality.

Business attire is different from evening and weekend dress. Investing in a good business wardrobe is an investment in your professional future. Business skills and experience count, but so does personal appearance and that crucial for first impression.

You rehearsed for researched the company, your interview, and appeared to be a qualified applicant at the interview. Perhaps, it was your career apparel choice that made that man behind the desk show up his nose. Selecting the appropriate and classy career apparel forced out break your chances of getting the job. Are there more stocking tasks or cleaning duties involved? Talk to former employees about the expectations of the business’s supervisor. If you’re applying for a position with a big-league business (such as a bank, high-class sales outlet, investment company, etc.), wear nothing short than high-class polished career apparel. dressing like you’re 10 years older will give you a professional and mature air, even if you’re in your 20s. For women’s career apparel, you might choose to wear a white button-down blouse, a long black skirt or dress pants, panty hose and black flat shoes. Put your glasses on, if you wear contacts. Make-up should be minimal, wearing no bright eye shadow or lipstick. Career apparel is all about being able to pull it off and looking sophisticated and smart. For men, depending upon the company’s reputation, a nice knit sweater with a collared shirt underneath might suffice for career apparel for the interview. If not, follow the traditional pin-striped button-down shirt with black or khaki dress pants and a solid tie. No gym shoes! Try loafers or polished dress shoes. Dressing in black tie career apparel perhaps a bit over the top, If you’re interviewing for a more relaxed establishment (like a pet store, newspaper delivery or fast-food restaurant) or for a physical labor job. Instead opt for comfortable career apparel fairly. Interview taboo is when wearing blue jeans. Go for cotton pants or casual tan corduroy and a long-sleeved knit top. Add a pair of small gold earrings for women. Flourish with a nice wrist watch for men.

My love of designer handbags began when I was a child. All I can say is that women look so much more distinguished and beautiful with the right designer handbag. Over the years I have created many collages of handbags that I wanted by clipping them out from fashion magazines. Though I still have not spent more than a thousand dollars on a handbag yet, I hope someday to be able to spend that kind of money on one.

Every week, I take a couple of hours to pour over magazines to make sure that I know what the latest and greatest handbags available. Is it me or are they getting more expensive? I thought I had a grasp on how much these evening handbags were worth, but it wasn’t close to what I thought they were worth. I thought I would write about some of the ones that caught my eye because of the price, and the perceived worth of these same items.

If I had to pick just one handbag that I would say is the best one, I will have to go with Fendi as my favorite designer. Though they are coming out with new styles all of the time, they somehow manage to have a classic look to them which is exactly what I like. Fendi designs some of the best handbags in the fashion industry, and the “B.Bag” is the most in-demand handbag in the world. Some might find the price to be a little more than they wanted to spend, but the attention that you will get will well be worth it.

One of my other favorite designers would be Hermes, especially the Birkin bag Named after the famed British actress Jane Birkin, they give you the glamour of an actress and catch eyes. You need to watch out for replicas of these bags as they are some of the most copied bags out there. They are available through special order only, and their final price is dependant on the materials used. They are a welcome addition to any woman’s collection.

The last one of my top three would be the Muse handbag from Yves Saint Laurent. It is a very traditional handbag, but I love it. I decided it was love at first sight, and it is on my list of handbags that I will own someday.

This list should just be a starting point for you, but bear in mind that there are other wonderful handbags on the market. There are about as many handbags as there are possible outfits – it is like a girl’s dream come true.
