To complement the explosive energy of Angel’s infamous overly gourmand scent, comes Angel Men or A*Men, an equally electrifying sweet fragrance that you either love or hate. The delicious notes are composed of the same luscious accords drenched in creamy sweetness of milk, chocolate, caramel and vanilla. These notes are well-blended to produce a pleasant masculine gourmand fragrance that made the public go gaga over its creative gourmand-ness. It’s warm, refined and the wearer stays great smelling for hours.
The woodsy notes of patchouli and cedar create a balance on the overwhelming masculine gourmand accords at the top notes. The base turns into a rich musk composition that features coffee, Tonka and styrax. A*Men conjures sensual finesse. It’s a seductive scent, wonderful and distinct; the burnt edge gives it that unusual masculine character.
Not too many people are neutral on A*Men. It’s a love/hate fragrance and requires that you have a strong liking for gourmand and patchouli fragrances. Beyond that, you will end up disliking the overwhelming gourmand accords of this fragrance. One important note worth taking is not to over-apply it. If you attempt to put on a heavy layer of A*Men, it will come out as cloyingly sweet, almost nauseating. Best if you apply it sparingly. This scent has a very good projection and excellent sillage.
One perfume aficionado at basenotes.com has this to say about A*Men,” This is fantastic stuff. All of these notes combine to make you a living chocolaty dessert. The power and sillage are first rate, so you don’t have to apply a generous amount. The only possible drawback is that this could bother people who don’t like chocolate. This is a must sample for everyone, if for nothing more than to appreciate the artistry.” And another one gushed, “I could not live without this. It is and has been for a few years “The One” fragrance I have to have. I never grow tired of it. I can’t stop smelling myself when I am wearing this. Sometimes I wonder why I wear anything else. To me there is nothing else like it. Very pronounced at first, but when it dries, it melts on you!”
Angel Men is not a scent for everyone. You really have to like foody fragrances to appreciate its beauty.
