Considerations when choosing your prom dress

Still undecided about your prom dress, and prom night approaching fast?. It can be hard to know where to start with so many options available. Not much help is forthcoming from your family or friands. Mother wants you to wear something demure and pretty much like her prom dress and your friends want you to wear a prom dress much to overtly sexy for your taste. Besides, your bust is to small/large, your hips to large and as for your legs! Have no fear, there really is a prom dress out there which you will feel happy and even glamorous in. Its just a matter of playing up to your good points and disguising your not so good.

First, decide the color. Make a short list of two or thre colors, and always include black and blue. The good thing about a black or royal blue prom dress is that, providing it is not to fussy, you will be able to wear it again for more formal events.

Next, the style. Focus on your neck and shoulders if your figure is less than perfect Do you have good skin and nice smooth shoulders with a long neck. Then try a prom dress which is off the shoulders. You could team it with a stunning necklace and nobody will look at that imperfect rear.

If your legs are not your finest point, then wear a long or mid calf dress. A mid calf dress is very flattering and gives more freedom of movement than a long prom dress. Don’t choose a dress that is at all tight, since you do want to be able to dance in comfort.Besides the lack of movement, it will show up any imperfactions even those you did not know you had.

Remember, if you have a large bust and you want to disguise this fact, then you should wear necklines which are round. If you are proud of your bustline, then try low cut v-shaped necklines which show cleavage. If you have a smaller bustline, emphasise its beautiful shape with either higher necklines or an uplift bra and lots of cleavage. A low cut strapless prom dress is also an option to consider. Choose whichever you feel most comfortable with.

It is a given that you will always have a better chance of finding that perfect dress for you if you try on lots of options from the short list you have prepared. Make an occasion of going out with a close friend to try on lots of prom dresses. Try on some which you think will not suit you at all. A pleasant surprise may be coming.
