Which Winter Footwear To Choose
We no longer have the need to expose our feet, in flip flops and sandals, to the fresh air and sun – because summer is at the end and winter is here. Winter brings with it socks, slippers and perpetual ice blocks at the ends of your legs. Your pins will still look stylish because the winter will bring int the new fashions when it comes to shoes we wear.
It seems that the boots, like biker boots in vogue and equestrian boots, will be next to ballerina flats and animal prints for this winter. Ballerina flats typically have round toes and come in a range on materials and colours. This winter animal prints, metallics – especially gold, and velvets are the big sellers. Vamp and ankle ties heel is another choice, as oposed to typical flat shoes we wear.
Besides red color and shiny patent look, Mary Jane’s are in fashion too. The name Mary Jane is an American term for a strap shoe or sandal that has low heels, broad, rounded and closed toes and a buckle strap across the instep and/or around the ankle. The situation is different now, but they’ve used to be made of black patent leather. These days they come in all colours and all materials including suede and canvas. Mary Jane’s were also primarily known as little girl’s shoes, and only occasionally as shoes for little boys. Nowadays these are great shoes for grown women too, but we must say that they should not be considered formal.
The Mary Jane’s of today have higher heels and platform soles, which makes them a bit different. Punk rockers and Goths adopted the shoes in particular, although some others would vamp up the “Lolita” look and wear them with high knit socks and a very short paid, pleated schoolgirl skirt.
Another trend this winter is the peep-toe shoe. People who know something about this say that they are not a degree colder than our regular pumps, but I was assured that the feet would simply freeze in one of these.
I hope that you have more ideas now and see all the options you have when it come to shoes for winter. Choose what fits your style best and you will be ready for the cold winter days.
